Drafting & Planning: Music Video storyboard.
I have chosen to storyboard my music video per line of lyric to give myself a strong guideline for filming:

Research into Similar products: Magazine advert analysis (Mika, Rihanna, Florence and The Machine)
I have also decided to analyse some mainstream / pop in order to be thorough in my research:
Research Conclusion:
Out of all of the music magazine adverts I have analysed, including mainstream and indie/alt, none have QR codes. This may be because Blackberry mobiles are less popular than they used to be, and not many other mobile devices can scan this code. However, all of the adverts have the name of artist and a main image, as these are the standard items for a magazine advertisement.
When I begin to plan and construct my magazine adverts I will use more conventions than some of the magazines above (and in the previous posts) have.

Research into similar products: Magazine advert analysis. (AM & Placebo & The Vaccines)
Conventions of a magazine advertisement research:

Here are three analysations of indie/alt rock magazine adverts:
These analysations show that magazine adverts can still be successful without having every single convention incorporated. \However, I prefer the "The Vaccines" magazine advertisement as it remains simplistic while subscribing to most of the conventions of magazine adverts.

Research Into Similar Products: NME magazine adverts & conventions of magazine adverts.
All if these adverts seemed to have similar aspects; a large title, tour or album dates and a recognisable logo or image. To evaluate whether this is a coincidence or required, I have also researched the conventions of magazine adverts.
I will analyse some magazine adverts in order to further my understanding of the conventions in my next post.

Organisation: Costume
In this post I will finalise the costumes that the actresses and actors chosen for the music video will wear. Although I and the other actors own most of these elements of costume, I will need to purchase some items for this.
Protagonist:
I have ordered the black jacket for my music video. I have also ordered the Placebo shirt. I have decided to wear merchandise from the band I am creating a video for, because at the start of this project I learned that one of the main reasons for a music video is to promote the artist, and I can do this subtly by wearing their merchandise in the video.
These are shoes I already own so I will not need to purchase any footwear for either costume in my music video.
2nd Actress:
Floaty skirt
Supporting Cast:
Although there will be a variety of both genders in the video, I will use differently coloured lipstick on some of the women to create a larger effect of separation. None of the actors and actresses should be indistinguishable from each other.

Organisation: Casting
Protagonist:
2nd Actress:
I am using a colleague as the love interest in this music video. This is because she is blonde, which will help to emphasise the way the protagonist views her as positive, as yellow often has connotations with the sun which brings light. She is also fair-skinned (white). This will contrast well with my costume as it will be mostly black, and I will dye my hair black, which will use Levi-Straus' theory binary opposites in narratives.
Supporting Cast:
The supporting cast will hopefully be of a range of ages and races, and will definitely consist of both genders. Although it is likely they will all be English-born, I want a large amount of skin tones to mimic the ways in which people in different countries connect to each other through social media.
I will take the role of the protagonist. This is because I believe I have the most understanding of what I want from this video. I have dark brown hair, which will most likely be dyed for the filming of this video.

Organisation: Locations
Location for laptop scene:
GET PICTURE OF BEDROOM WITH DIM LIGHTS
Protagonist lip syncing location:
These white walls are in the sixth form area. This location is convenient for filming as the majority of my supporting actors attend the same sixth form as me, so if anything needs to be re-shot it can be done quickly, providing they bring their costume into school. The wide corridors allow space to set up a tripod, and I can borrow a chair from the common room to make sure that my lipsyncing shots are steady.

Location for dress scene:
Cannon hill
